Accessibility statement

Last updated: October 22, 2026

We want everyone to be able to learn about our boats, get in touch and build a Bluewater, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on this website, and we’re working toward the same standard in our online boat builder.

What we’ve done

  • Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels so they make sense to screen readers.
  • Menus, photo galleries, tabs and forms are built to work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • We check text contrast against WCAG requirements, including text over photos and video.
  • Photos of our boats have text descriptions.
  • The homepage video has a pause button and doesn’t play automatically if your device is set to reduce motion. It has no sound.
  • Forms have visible labels, mark required fields, and explain any errors in plain language that screen readers announce.
  • The site works when zoomed to 200% and on phones and tablets.
  • We test with automated tools (axe) and by hand with a keyboard before each major change.

Known limitations

  • YouTube videos. Videos from our partners play in YouTube’s player. Captions are provided by the video’s creator or by YouTube’s automatic captions, which aren’t always accurate.
  • Dealer map. The map on our dealer page is visual. Every dealer’s name, address, phone and website is also listed in text right beside it.
